Act 2 Scene 3 and 4

Summary -

Rewrite the scene 3 from Lady Macbeth’s perspective.  You are free to use modern English but ensure that the events, characters and character relationships remain the same as in the original version written by Shakespeare. Please submit your version of the scene to the Padlet submission link at the bottom of the page.

Keep You Thinking -

  1. Consider the role of nature in the play.  What is happening in the background that the audience is being reminded of in Act II, iii?  How might this reflect that is happening in forefront?

  2. What do you think the Portar’s role is in the beginning of Scene iii? How does his part effect the mood of the play

  3. What event occurs that makes Macduff suspicious of Macbeth?

  4. Consider Malcolm and Donalbain’s reaction to their father’s murder. What do you make of their reaction?

  5. Lady Macbeth swoons and faints in Scene iii, do you think this was deliberate? Why or why not?.

  6. Consider Ross’ conversation with the old man in scene iv.  How does this contribute to the elements of the play?
